Directions

Hazel Corner is located within easy reach of several major towns and cities. We can easily be accessed from Luton and Dunstable in the north, to Harpenden in the west, Berkhampstead in the east and Hemel Hempstead, St. Albans or Watford to the south. With our location just five minutes from junction 9 off the M1 we are even within easy reach of north London.

From the South

• Exit junction 9 off the M1 and at the end of the slip road turn Left onto A5
• Pass the truck-stop and Shell garage which is on your right
• Pass the Indian restaurant and Holiday In on your right
• Do not follow the signs into Markyate village
• But turn Right at the base of the pedestrian footbridge
• This is Hicks Lane leading to Windmill Road
• (Note this is a continuous road where one merges into the other with no turn off)
• Go up the hill exercising care for cars, horses or walkers
• Follow the road round to the Right on a ninety degree bend
• After a few hundred yards you come to a Left hand bend
• On your Right you will see the sign and entrance for "Hazel Corner Dog Hotel"

From the North

• Either take exit 9 off the M1 and turn Right at the end of the slip road
• (This takes you under the motorway and you can then follow above directions)
• You should see the truck-stop and Shell garage on your right
• Or follow the A5 south until you arrive in the Markyate area
• Again do not follow the signs into Markyate village
• But from the A5 south turn Left at the base of the pedestrian footbridge
• Then follow Hicks Lane leading to Windmill Road as above

From the Harpenden Area

• Whilst it is possible to go across small country lines more directly
• This is not advisable unless you know these routes well
• There are a number of blind bends, narrow lanes and a ford this way
• More advisable is to go via Redbourne and follow the above South directions
• Or travel via Slip End to the A5 and then follow the North directions
