Introduction : The Team

We All Love Animals!

We have full time members of staff, regular part time employees and students in animal welfare. Sarah is the longest serving member of our team having been with us for over ten years. She has a City & Guilds qualification in Caring For Animals. has visited Giant Pandas in the wild in China and been on holiday whale and dolphin watching. Daphne is our part time receptionist with a passionate interest in gardening. She looks after the diary and is the first person to chat to when checking on dates for your holidays. If you want your dog bathed or trimmed then her daughter Claire is one of our two experts at the on site grooming parlour. We also have Kayleigh (studying Animal Management at Shuttleworth College), Nicola (a student and at Manshead College 6th form) and Simon.

The Environment

Our team also cares for the environment at Hazel Corner. Our seven acres is totally natural and has been for seventeen years now. We do not use any fertilisers or chemicals on the land at all to help promote wildlife. We have rabbits (too many), foxes, deer, and the occasional badger, as well as plenty of bird life. In the mature woodland we have even spotted dormice.

We've extended our care to the newest building, Sunnyside, which has high standards of insulation for both minimising energy consumption and also keeping the guests cool in summer. All the rainwater from the roofs of both Sunnyside and The Paddocks is captured in a rainwater harvesting system (shown being installed in the picture to the left). This is then reused for cleaning duties minimising water use and saving the energy involved in water company purification.
